Hi, I'm Roberto (he/him), a board certified clinical supervisor. My approach draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), focusing on solving current problems and modifying unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns. I do this through a multicultural and social justice approach and lens. What that means is I take into consideration the person’s varying identities and how the systems they live in impacts them. I focus on the client in a holistic approach. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for past disturbing memories and related events. I am a big fan of the benefits of group counseling. Joining a group provides a unique way to get support from others who are going through similar challenges. I also offer Clinical Supervision to therapists who wish to be licensed in Virginia (LPC Residents) and the District of Columbia.
