Allswell Journaling App – Privacy Policy

Allswell is committed to protecting your privacy and securing your personal health information. The Allswell Journaling App allows users to record personal reflections, which are stored securely in a HIPAA-compliant platform and accessible only to authorized parties, as described in this policy.

2. Data Collection & Use

• Personal Information: When using the journaling app, you will be required to be authenticated into your Allswell patient portal, requiring user name and password. This ensures secure access to your data.
• Journal Entries: All responses are stored securely in a HIPAA-compliant database with a third-party partner who has signed a Business Associate Agreement to preserve the security and safety of your information.
• Access & Sharing: Your journal entries are:
  • Accessible only to you and your assigned therapist via a HIPAA-compliant platform.
  • Never shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law (e.g., in cases of harm to self or others).

3. Security Measures

• Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
• Your journal responses are only accessible through your authenticated patient portal and your provider's authenticated provider portal.
• We follow strict HIPAA guidelines to prevent unauthorized access to your information.

4. Your Rights

• Access: You may request to view your journal entries at any time by contacting Allswell at hello@joinallswell.com.
• Deletions: Due to HIPAA law, we are required to maintain medical information (including journaling records) up to 6 years. Records cannot be deleted under law before then.
• Corrections: If any of your information is incorrect, you may request modifications.
• Withdrawal of Consent: You can stop using the journaling app at any time.

5. Data Retention

We store your journal responses as long as your therapy relationship with Allswell is active and up to 6 years post-discharge to comply with corporate practice of medicine.
