MK Meyers (she/they)
Therapist, LMSW

MK is a dedicated mental health therapist and passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ youth, with deep roots in community care, gender-affirming practice, and systems navigation. A graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, MK went on to earn her Master of Social Work from Salisbury University, where she focused on anti-racist practice and trauma-informed care.

MK has supported LGBTQ+ clients, youth in foster care, and individuals with dual diagnoses across a range of clinical and residential settings—including Sheppard Pratt, where they championed gender-affirming language and led crisis intervention efforts, and Maryland’s Department of Human Services, where they worked as a family services caseworker. They bring a fierce commitment to client dignity, systemic advocacy, and community resilience to every interaction.

MK's undergraduate thesis, “Giving Voice to Queer Kids,” focused on reducing suicidality in LGBTQ+ youth through more inclusive school-based support systems. They’ve carried that mission into every role since—fighting for name and pronoun affirmation, uplifting LGBTQ+ foster teens, and showing up at grassroots events to support their community.

Now at Allswell, MK continues to center identity-affirming, relational, and culturally responsive care. Her work is grounded in empathy, justice, and a deep belief in every person’s right to be seen and supported.

MK is a licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) working under the supervision of Octavia Sykes, LCSW-C. See Octavia's profile on the team page.
